At An Affair to Remember we advise all of our clients to open up a credit card when they begin the wedding planning process. Why not earn rewards for all those high dollars you will be spending. Who knows, by the time your wedding arrives, you may be able to pay for that honeymoon (or at least the airline tickets).

Putting everything on one card also makes tracking your spending much easier. However, some advice if you decide to go this route…..make sure you let your bank know ahead of time. We’ve had too many brides with final bills due in the last few weeks who were embarrassed when their venue or florist called to tell them their card was declined. Most banks have daily limits on how much can be spent or they will flag a card for fraud when large amounts of money are charged. This can result in unnecessary stress for you come the week of the wedding. If you let them know ahead of time, a simple note in your file will allow all of your final payments to go through without a problem and your rewards will keep growing!
